Wild Kestrel

Where wild ideas fly

Somewhere betweenthe ridiculous ideaand the practical plan.

Creative thinking.
Strategic clarity.
Ideas that actually happen.

Use
my
brain.

Got a problem?

An opportunity?

A half-formed idea?

Something that needs looking at differently?

That’s pretty much what I do.

Bring me the thing you’re wrestling with. We’ll work out what it could become.

Tell me what you’re thinking →

What do you actually do?

It depends what you bring me.

  • 01I develop marketing plans.
  • 02Shape new ideas.
  • 03Build propositions.
  • 04Find opportunities.
  • 05Rethink brands.
  • 06Develop products.
  • 07Connect people.
  • 08Open doors.
  • 09Challenge assumptions.
  • And occasionally ask the irritating question that changes the whole thing.

I’ve been around a bit.

I’m Phil Loose.

I’ve spent more than 30 years turning ideas into things.

Music. Brands. Events. Charities. Products. Campaigns. Partnerships.

I’ve worked internationally in the music industry, led organisations, developed new ventures and spent a lot of time working out how to get people to notice things.

Today I’m CEO of Essential Christian, home of Spring Harvest.

Wild Kestrel is where I make some of that experience available to other people.

No agency.

No account team.

No junior consultant.

You get me.

Evidence, of a sort

Things I’ve had my fingers in.

  • Spring Harvest

Leadership, strategy and innovation around one of the UK’s best-known Christian events.

  • Trick or Truth

A shared idea. 10,000 boxes. And we’re only getting started.

  • SongCards

A unique way to get songs discovered.

  • Jesus Only You

Taking song promotion onto the streets. And I didn't get arrested.

  • How Great Thou Art

Thinking about the future of one of the world’s great hymns.

Why Wild Kestrel?

It started with my Dad.

In the 1980s and 90s, he was managing director of an innovative electronics company. He was wrestling with a problem on a major project connected with the global steel industry.

One particularly windy day, he looked out of his office window and saw a kestrel.

Everything around it was moving. Yet somehow the bird appeared almost completely still. Hovering, watching, constantly adjusting.

Dad stopped and watched it.

“How does it do that?”

That question sent his thinking somewhere different. Instead of staring harder at the problem, he became curious about something else. And in making that connection, he found a way forward.

He told me that story years ago. It stayed with me.

Because much of my own working life has been about the same thing: stop, look, ask a different question, make an unexpected connection, then work out how to make it happen.

That’s why I called this Wild Kestrel.

The kestrel came from my Dad.The wild is probably me.

You probably
don’t need
another
consultant.

You might need another way of looking at it.

Got something interesting?

  • An idea.
  • A problem.
  • An opportunity.
  • Something that’s stuck.
  • Something that doesn’t exist yet.

Let’s have a conversation.
